It only takes two wheels to see a thousand years of Dutch history! If you’re as fond of cycling as the Dutch, you’ll love it here. Hop on your bike, or rent one from our neighbours. Feel the wind in your hair and the sun on your face as you pedal across the seabed. Enjoy the trip, bring your children along – let the good times roll!
Cycling – the ultimate Dutch way to get to our Word Heritage. From Rotterdam, Dordrecht, Gouda, and Utrecht, you can safely pedal to our windmills, thanks to our excellent bicycle paths. On top of that, you can take the Waterbus from Rotterdam or Dordrecht and discover the surroundings of Kinderdijk on your bike. Here’s our little Dutch insider’s tip: no extra charge for your bike on board the Waterbus! Do not forget to buy an entrance ticket online for access to our visitor locations! Are you coming from Rotterdam, Gouda or the surroundings? Take the ferry from Krimpen aan de Lek to Kinderdijk!
Bike rental & cycle routes
In our Kinderdijk app (Kinderdijk UNESCO Official) you will find various cycling routes around our World Heritage Site. Are you not coming to Kinderdijk with your own bicycle, but you do want to ride one to discover our area? We do not rent out bikes ourselves, but we do know people who do:
