National Mill Day
In the weekend of the 14th en 15th of May, the windmills in the Netherlands will be in the spotlight during National Mill Day 2022! Will you come and meet our millers? The museum mills and pumping stations of Kinderdijk UNESCO World Heritage are open between 9.30 am and 5.30 pm.
This year National Mill Day is extra special because it is also the Year of the Miller due to the 50th anniversary of the Guild of Voluntary Millers. All the more reason to celebrate! Pay a visit to our running – if there is enough wind – museum mills this weekend.

For the younger children there is more than enough to see, do, learn, and discover in Kinderdijk World Heritage. On Saturday, May 14th, we organize a scavenger hunt for children. By doing a fun scavanger hunt, they learn more about the windmills in Kinderdijk UNESCO World Heritage in a playful way. Can you spot the difference between a water mill and a grain mill? The windmills are hidden at several locations.
