An overview of our group deals
Kinderdijk World Heritage Foundation offers six uniquely different group deals. Below, you will find the various deals listed for your convenience. Apart from the Miller’s Helper group deal for our youngest visitors, they all bear the classical Dutch names for the different ways millers cover the sails of their windmills: Hoge Lijn, Duiker, Stormeind, and Rondvol, respectively.
'Hoge Lijn' group deal
Over the course of the ‘Hoge Lijn’ group deal, your company enjoys a stroll past the former Wisboom pumping station, which today serves as our visitor centre with a multi-screen film and an exhibition on display. From there, you will proceed to both of our museum windmills, Blokweer and Nederwaard, where everyone gets a chance to see from without and within what it was like to live in a traditional Dutch polder windmill. The Hoge Lijn group deal treats your company to a relaxed stroll among the reed-covered banks of a deeply Dutch polder landscape, while the mighty windmills of the World Heritage site show themselves in all their ancient splendour.
'Duiker' group deal
Our ‘Duiker’ group deal shows the best parts of our World Heritage to the company in an hour and a half, only here, you get to enjoy the sight from the waters of our Kinderdijk basins. In this group deal, you attend the visitor centre in the old Wisboom pumping station, with its multi-screen film and exhibition, after which you embark on our low-noise vessel Djieuwke. As you enjoy a relaxed boat tour of about thirty minutes for the very best views and photo opportunities, the Nederwaard museum windmill awaits you on the opposite shore of the basin. Inside, you will get a personal look at everything a miller’s life here used to entail back in the old days. Choosing the Duiker group deal means taking in the sight of Kinderdijk from the water and from the shore; with additional options to take your personal tour guide along, or to return to your starting point by boat as well.
'Stormeind' group deal including tour guide
In about ninety minutes, the ‘Stormeind’ group deal gives your company a personal close-up look at the life of Kinderdijk’s ancient millers, the history of the area, and the technology that facilitated all the feats of water management accomplished at this World Heritage site. You will be accompanied by your personal dedicated tour guide, leading your company past the millwright’s workshop, the multi-screen film, the old electrical pumping machinery and the exhibition at the Wisboom visitor centre. The stroll continues to the Nederwaard museum windmill, where you can take a personal look at the inner workings of a genuine Dutch polder windmill. Experience what life used to be like back in the days when large miller families all lived inside these windmills together. Your tour guide will give you all the opportunity you need to ask any questions, as well as giving you a personal account of the World Heritage cherished by this beautiful region.
'Rondvol' group deal including tour guide
Over the course of the ‘Rondvol’ group deal, a knowledgeable guide takes the company along in a three-hour tour of all of the windmill area’s landmarks. As you stroll among the reeds and sail the waters on the low-noise vessel Djieuwke, you will experience Kinderdijk at its best: from the millwright’s workshop to the visitor centre with its multi-screen film and exhibition, along the water basins and across them, with plenty of opportunities to have an in-depth and up-close look at both our museum windmills. On your way, you get to enjoy the personal stories of your tour guide and get every chance to ask any questions that may arise as you take in the beautiful surroundings. With our Rondvol group deal, you will definitely make the most out of your Kinderdijk visit!
