Discover Dutch World Heritage on the Cycle and Hiking Fair

When cycling, what do the Dutch World heritages look like? Can you walk around at the World heritages? What does the environment of a World heritage look like? World heritage Foundation Netherlands will be at the Cycling and Hiking Fair in both Utrecht and Ghent in February. Our booth will be manned by all ten UNESCO recognized World heritages. You will find information on those ten World

Contest

During the fair our visitors can join a contest: which scent is linked to which World heritage? What do the machines at the Wouda Steam pumphouse smell like or the pastures of the Beemster? Participants can win different trips, programs and entrances to our World heritages. The main price is a hiking trip on Terschelling.

World Heritage in Holland

The ten UNESCO – recognized World heritages in Holland: Schokland and it’s surroundings, Stelling of Amsterdam, Windmill at Kinderdijk-Elshout, Willemstad Curaçao, ir.D.F.Woudagemaal, Droogmakerij Beemster, Rietveld Schröderhuis, Waddenzee, Grachtengordel Amsterdam and the Van Nelle factory. These are all unique in the world. They tell you in a special way the story of the Netherlands and the Dutch about the water, watermanagement, civil society and (country) landscaping.
