Coming from the direction of the dike, you can’t miss the Kinderdijk UNESCO World Heritage Visitors Centre. Here, our staff stand ready to help you on your way. You can also enjoy the breath-taking view or a drink and a bite to eat here.
Kinderdijk-cafe
You can relax in the Kinderdijk-cafe. Rest your feet as you enjoy a nice cup of coffee, an alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage, or a sandwich as you look out over the mills. When the weather is good, the stunning outdoor terrace above the water offers an excellent place to take a break. The toilets are located in the basement (down the stairs in the Gift Shop).
The Visitor Center was opened in 2019 by Princess Beatrix. The construction was part of the redevelopment of the entrance zone of UNESCO World Heritage Kinderdijk. Our Visitors Centre opened its doors in 2019, as an integral part of the broader redevelopment of the Kinderdijk UNESCO World Heritage entrance zone.
On the ground floor, you’ll also find a Giftshop full of gifts and (sustainable) products that represent Holland and the Kinderdijk spirit. As you make your way through the Visitors Centre, make sure to take a quick look upstairs and enjoy a phenomenal view of the entire windmill complex!
